Blessings Faithful Watchmen, Prayer Warriors, Intercessors (priests, kings, prophets after the Order of Melchizedek),

What an awesome season! Restore & Revive brought forth all that we have been sensing, praying into, travailing and birthing over the past several years. Prophetic words over the past 30 years are being fulfilled in this new season. Such worship, passion, hunger and thirst coming forth from the saints in New England. Hebrew year 5778: we as Chuck prophesied have stepped into the new, through the gate/portal/door into the light glory filled sanctuary of the third day church of revelation – the ekklesia built on the unfolding revelation of Jesus Christ. “On this rock I, Jesus Christ, will build MY church.” The Kingdom Revolution has begun; it is a parable to the American Revolution in the natural. The kingdom is advancing. The Government of God’s blueprint is landing in New England. Christ in you the hope of Glory. As Jesus is we are.

Below please find the Chuck Pierce prophetic word given during worship at the New England Alliance Restore & Revive Convocation Sunday evening, October 1. Note the date: the end of the first 10 days of the Lord’s fall feasts and the beginning of the second portion of the Lord’s feasts, Tabernacles. The revival baby is birthed. As mentioned in an earlier prophetic prayer blog, we must continue to pray, nurture and decree this beginning birth of revival into its fullness of moving, growing and maturing into awakening and reformation/restoration. UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES WE ARE LIVING IN

Greetings, Beloved!

I pray this letter finds you growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the blessed Holy Spirit.

This coming October 31, 2017, as I have said many times before, marks the 500-year celebration of the Great Reformation—known as “Reformation Day.” Long before, the pagan culture had taken that day to turn “All Hallows Eve” into a time of vandalism and pranks designed to desecrate the faith of Catholics, which became what we know today as Halloween. (All Hallows Eve originally was a Catholic prayer vigil held in honor of the saints of the Church throughout Church history to prepare for the following day, November 1, which is known as “All Saints Day.”)

It was on the eve of October 31, 1517, that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the Wittenberg Door of the Castle Church, where he is buried and where he preached many of his great sermons. You wouldn’t think God would have started a Holy Spirit revolution in the little town of Wittenberg, Germany; however, He certainly did, and it stood the Church that had been a part of the Holy Roman Empire for centuries and centuries upside down!

Cultural Upheaval and the Church

There was great upheaval in culture during the time of the Reformation. It included the famous Peasant Wars, in which a “populist” uprising of the forgotten poorer classes against the aristocracy broke out all over Germany and in Europe with many insurrections. Poorly armed farmers and peasants were slaughtered by the rich aristocracy. The wars were over economic issues and religious revolts. The middle class no longer existed! There simply was nomiddle class.

Also, major compromises were taking place within the Roman Catholic Church with the selling of indulgences (a pardon for certain types of sin), which made room for gross immorality amongst those who named the name of Christ. Luther was deeply vexed over this issue, as it made room for extra-biblical ideas that added to and took away from what Scripture revealed (Rev. 22:18-19). It made room for sin to run rampant in the Church.

The German monk who was selling indulgences in Germany, who was the real trigger for Luther’s nailing his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church, was John Tetzel. Pressure for reform was mounting for many, many reasons, including cultural, social, political and economic issues.

Let’s fast forward to 2017.

A Modern-Day Populist Uprising

In both America and Europe today, we are in the midst of a “populist” uprising (whether you agree with it or not, it is a sign of the times—which is where I am headed, so stay with me) that is eerily similar to the time of the Great Reformation.

We are also in a time when Evangelicals are now questioning the moral restraints of Scripture. Not only are they challenging our interpretation of Scripture, but they also are challenging how we define the concept of the “authority of Scripture.” The result? We now have even Christians embracing a kind of secular morality that has nothing to do with God’s natural order. Saints are now compromised even in “the faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

Cycles of history indeed do repeat themselves, and we are in one of those cycles. The current crisis in our society is actually an indication of a culture in collapse. We are in what historians call the “Post-Christian Era” of culture (one among many other descriptions of “culture”—which, by the way, is a very difficult word to define; take some time and check it out from those who deal with culture and see what they have to say about defining it).

Understanding Our Times

The Post Christian Era is about how Christianity has lost its ability to maintain itself as the prominent worldview in Western culture and the Northern Hemisphere. Christianity flourished for centuries and centuries, but now secular and nationalistic worldviews have taken prominence and dominate the landscape. As I have said many times before, the Church in the Western world is in its own crisis and decline.

So, is that a concern for you and for me? Absolutely! Understanding what is going on in our culture—and what our response should be—is critically important. That’s why I’ve named this new series “Being a People Who Understand the Times and Know What to Do.”

Consider this verse that I have quoted many, many times, both in my letters to you and in my preaching over the last number of years:

“Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command” (1 Chron.12:32).

Understanding the times is crucial. Knowing what to do about it is even more essential! A lot of people seem to understand the times, yet they don’t know what to do about it.

As we are praying this month for the restoration of the Church to a fresh and renewed awareness and demonstration of God’s glory and power by the Spirit, we want to join our faith with yours for what God has promised. Let me know so that the entire team can pray along with you!
