Three bills, among others, will be up for for votes during this special session: the Housing Bill, Hospital funding to expand UConn Health and directing an additional $500 million into the state’s rainy day fund to prepare for potential future budget cuts. The Yankee Institute states concerning the Housing Bill, “This bill is far from perfect-and passing it in a special session limits accountability.” You can keep track of the special session on Yankee Institute’s social media pages: Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin. Thomas and Debbie Berrill’s “Take Back the Connecticut Assembly” plan, Legislators asking for grassroots action and encouraging yourself in the Lord
The Berrill’s plan was originally sent in the AWAKE CT 10/7 email. In light of the loss of Republicans to Democrats in many offices in CT in the last election, I have included Pastors Dell’s link below for a concise explanation with graphs if you have not heard or seen it before. Our state legislators have repeatedly petitioned Republican voters to become engaged in grassroots activism to get the message out to as many as possible concerning what is at stake in the upcoming election. There are already intercessors praying and we will soon be needing the “boots on the ground people” shortly after the new year begins. There is so much going on in our lives; family, job(s), church and ministries, news, political action, health, etc. As David encouraged himself in the Lord when his family was kidnapped, his possessions taken, and his men grumbled against him, we also have this available to us. The Lord meets with us in the midst of the unexpected and the chaos, when we take the time to encourage ourselves in Him. Strength, hope, a way forward, His presence to go with us and peace.
