HB 7213 Vote Expected Thursday. We Need Your Help to Stop It.

We told you in our last message that a vote in the state House of Representatives was expected on the most radical abortion bill we have ever seen. We now know the vote is expected this Thursday, May 1st. We need your help to stop it.

To recap: HB 7213 repeals regulations that have been law in Connecticut since the 1970s. These regulations require doctors to save newborns who survive botched abortions, protect the conscience rights of medical workers who perform abortions, and require abortion statistics to be reported to the state government.

Christians and other believers are asking why their conscience rights are being taken from them without even allowing them a say. Minority communities are asking why reporting requirements are being ended in a state where black and Hispanic people make up only 19% of the population but have 57% of the abortions.

How is this not racism? How is it not anti-Christian discrimination? Why are HB 7213’s supporters trying to hide these facts from the public?

We need your help, in three ways. First, please email your state senator and state representative now and ask them to vote NO on HB 7213.

Second, we need as many pro-lifers as possible to be physically present at the Legislative Offfice Building (LOB), 300 Capitol Avenue, in Hartford at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 1st. Contact Leslie Wolfgang at ppdirector@ctfamily.org if you can be there. We have been hard at work over the weekend, getting the message out. Peter Wolfgang appeared on Channel 8’s Capitol Report Show, and on radio stations like WICC in Bridgeport and in-studio with WIHS in Middletown. Peter and Leslie also attended the CT Right to Life workshop in Niantic on Saturday, at which Leslie helped local pro-lifers write to their legislators to oppose HB 7213.
