HOUSE TO VOTE ON RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION REPEAL BILL MONDAY 4/19/21!
We have received confirmation that the vote on House Bill 6423, which would repeal the religious exemption for public and private school students, as well as for children in daycare and college students, will take place on Monday, April 19, 2021. Ironically, this date is known as Patriots Day, as on April 19, 1775, the “shot heard round the world” rang out in Lexington, Massachusetts, marking the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.
Will Monday be a day of celebration for patriots or for tyrants? That, friends, is entirely up to YOU. Many of you have asked what you can do, and no doubt feel powerless to stop this legislation from passing. Do not lose hope. What we are asking right now – TODAY – is that each and every one of you send an email to every one of the members of the CT House of Representatives (email addresses below), demanding that they vote NO on this discriminatory and regressive legislation that will segregate children, deprive special needs students of vital programs and services, deny students the chance to go to college, and set in motion the plan to severely restrict medical exemptions as well.
